Children’s Ministries (Birth– 6th Grade)
SUNDAY SCHEDULE
Purposeful Nursery: 9:30 a.m.-12noon during both services For our youngest churchgoers, birth-3 years, to be loved while learning about how much Jesus loves them. This fun curriculum is full of fun songs, stories, and play made especially for this age group! This offering is meant for children to be well taken care so their parents can attend either Cafe Worship or Adult Sunday School, and parents are asked to be present within the church building while their child is in the purposeful nursery room.
Children’s Worship: 9:30 a.m. during cafeworship This energetic offering is a meld between traditional Sunday School and a worship service made just for kids ages 3 (and potty-trained)-6th grade. Children’s Worship includes lots of hands-on learning while introducing our children to what worship is during an exciting time of singing, praying and putting what we’re learning into action. Our theme for 2011 is “What Every Child Should Know”
Children’s Bells/Choir: Sundays in the School Year, During 10:45 Sanctuary Worship, For Children 4 years-6th grade Children should sit with their families and go up for the Children’s Sermon. They will be dismissed from Sanctuary Worship to go have fun learning new songs-words, instruments, hand motions! This program is an exciting way for children to better learn God’s Word and a great way for them to share it with others. They have “performances” throughout the school year during worship services! Children’s Choir/Bells is led by our very own Lynda Cobb & Jessica Kase! Their teaching expertise, love for children and music, and their unending patience make them a terrific team that creates results.

Children’s Ministries (Birth– 6th Grade) - News & Events
We have 2 nursery workers in order to provide better consistency and even better care and instruction for our children from birth to age 3!
Both Sandy Clarke and Judy Nichols are also employed at Noah’s Ark Children’s Center and bless our children with their energy, patience, tenderness, and joyous songs each Sunday morning as our children begin to learn of God’s great love for them! Here’s what Sandy & Judy have to say about themselves:
Sandy My husband Scott (whom I love and adore) & I have 3 children–Daniel (21), Katelyn (11), and Jacob (7). We are very proud of them and from oldest to youngest, they keep us very busy. Although we have been attending First UMC for just over a year, we have felt like part of this Christian family from the beginning. I’ve been employed at Noah’s Ark for 8 years and love it! I feel my calling is spending quality time with children. In my spare time, between helping with homework, making meals, and running the kids to friends or sports, I like spending it laughing and talking. We love to camp as a family and enjoy swimming, playing indoor/outdoor games and yes, s’mores!
Judy I’m a proud mother of three wonderful children, a daughter and son at OHS, and a daughter earning her Master’s degree at The Ohio State University. I have a heartfelt passion for FUMC, as it has been my home church since birth. My husband, Bill, & I taught the 4-5 year old Sunday school class for three years and were the first Family Ministry Team. With the arrival of the VanderMolen twins, I was blessed to be their caregiver for their first three years. I am co-coordinator for the UMW’s Social Action committee. Employed mornings at Advanced Drainage, I also work part-time for Noah’s Ark (joyfully rewarding & fulfilling) and for a local caterer. I enjoy reading, gardening, crafts (especially card making and paper crafts), UMW’s Joyful Beginnings and catching up with friends
We are excited to be your Purposeful Nursery leaders and to be given the opportunity to assist you in introducing our Lord to your children. We look forward to meeting you and your young children. God Bless!
Introduces children to worship in an environment where they can have fun being “themselves” and also be engaged and encouraged in experiencing their own personal relationship with Jesus. It is a meld between traditional Sunday school and their own worship service.
