Carol A. Beemer, age 82 of Henderson, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Owosso First United Methodist Church, 1500 N. Water St. Owosso, MI 48867. Rev. Calvin Long will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Henderson. Family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel in Owosso Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-8 pm and again Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

 

Carol was born January 14, 1935 in Owosso to the late Arthur and Irene (Reid) George. She attended Owosso High School graduating in 1953. On October 27, 1956 she married Richard Lee Beemer in Henderson and together raised two children. Richard later passed on February 7, 1999.

 

Mrs. Beemer worked several years for Woodard's in Owosso in clerical. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Owosso where she was very active in the United Methodist Women, as the Parish Visitor to shut-ins, in the UGLI quilts group, and was a past board member for Noah's Ark Daycare among other things.  She was also a member of the American Bell Association and enjoyed gardening, baking, and collecting bells and angels.

Mrs. Beemer is survived by her children: Susan (Jason) Kelley of Holt and Kevin (Vicki) Beemer of Saginaw; 11 grandchildren: Erica (Matt) Patra, Kyle Rose, Alex Bigger, Jordan Beemer, Noah Bigger, Rebecca Hagon, Julia Bigger, Meredith Hagon, Iain Beemer, Chelsea Kelley, Aaron Kelley; great grandson, Brett Montgomery; 2 sisters: Marion Ricketts and Ruth George as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; brother, LeRoy George and sister, Ellen Chant.
