Marion  Simpkins age 94 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Oliver Woods Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday October 1, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Cal Long officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday September 30, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm.

Marion was born December 16, 1921 in Whittemore, the daughter of Carl and Kathryn (McCarty) Sundquist.

She graduated from Owosso High School; Class of 1939 and attended Owosso Business Institute for 2 years.

Marion was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Airstream Camping Group. She enjoyed camping, traveling and bowling.

She married Lewis Simpkins in Henderson on March 22, 1946; he predeceased her in 2013.

Marion was employed with Redmonds in data processing for 23 years and Indian Trails in accounting for 15 years.

Marion is survived by her daughter Susan (Bill) Bruckman; grandchildren Wendy Simpkins Nicolas Bruckman, Mara (Leslie) Bruckman, Dylan Edminster and Austin Bruckman; 2 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Lewis, sister Kathryn Smith, brothers Thomas, John and Gene Sundquist.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Great Lakes Caring Hospice and donor's choice.
